2024 International Symposium on Volunteers in Policing

This Symposium brings together leads and practitioners of volunteer policing from around the world, alongside academics internationally from the field of police volunteering. Building on the successful 2022 International Roundtable event hosted by CGI in London, this Symposium is expected to represent the largest international gathering of leaders and experts on volunteer policing.

• Trailblazing Themes: Including (1) sharing innovative volunteer program strategies, (2) exploring the intersection of technology and volunteerism, (3) developing corporate partnering, and (4) launching groundbreaking international initiatives including the online International Observatory of Volunteer Policing, the Global Foundation for Community Safety Volunteers, and the Global Index, as well as a new IPSCJ hosted international academic network.

• Scotland’s Heritage in Volunteer Policing: Discover the unique Scottish approach, from historic traditions of Special Police Constables to the leading-edge Police Scotland Youth Volunteers program.
